Narnia Party!

NARNIA PARTY!
Sumner's favorites stories are the Chronicles of Narnia, so we celebrated his fifth birthday at the park in the lion, the witch and the wardrobe style! Jamie and I decorated a refrigerator box from Lowe's as the wardrobe and each child entered the pavilion through it to receive either a crown (for the girls) or a sword (for the guys).

*Ginny, sadly, I couldn't con Jamie in to dressing up as Mr. Tumnus! Even with our prodding :) That would've been a picture! I do need a rating on my cardboard/glitter handiwork, though...does it measure up to my former homecoming glory?????

After entering the wardrobe, we played with bubbles, made Super Snow, played Freeze Tag with the White Witch's wand, and hunted for Turkish Delites (hidden in eggs around the field). Sumner had a big day and loved having his buddies there to celebrate with him.

What a fun theme idea! And the boys look so cute! I am sad that Jamie didn't dress up like Mr. Tumnus or the beavers. Let's see...I guess dressing up like Mr. Tumnus would include being bare-chested w/ a red scarf and an umbrella. Would have definitely been a Kodak moment. :)

wouldn't he have made a fantastic Tumnus? if only i could have crafted some hooves....

You are so creative!! The boys will have such great memories of their birthday parties.

Of course, in sheer size and amount of glitter, the homecoming moon will never matched, but the wardrobe looks great. Are you going to keep it on your Mom's back porch? :)

Holly~you are right...nothing could ever replace the ol' moon! Sadly, the wardrobe got put out on the street yesterday :(
Would loved to have saved it, but as you know we're moving and limited on space!

oh i'm so sad that jamie would not even consider dressin up as mr. tumnus. of course it would have been for my entertainment and all of the adults. you think he would have sacrificed himself for a good laugh. shame on you jamie!
